Premarital Counseling

Premarital preparation focuses on helping couples identify issues, habits, or topics that affect their relationship. These are identified through the use of FOCCUS or Prepare and Enrich inventories. The counselor will review the inventory results with the couple and provide recommendations and a treatment plan tailored to the couple. Early intervention is key! Premarital preparation helps couples be preventative rather than reactive to the stressors of married life, strengthening their capacity to live out their marital vows.

Here are a few reasons couples seek Premarital Counseling:

  • A priest recommends that a couple work through certain issues before marriage

  • New information was discovered that creates doubt in the couple

  • A chronic family history of divorce or unhealthy marriages

  • Recurrent conflict that is unresolved

  • Differences of opinion regarding raising children, management of finances, roles etc.

  • Difficulty connecting

We offer both virtual and in-person counseling.
